This is not just the best camera pack I’ve ever had, it’s an amazing pack, period. Well-made, super comfortable to wear. Well thought out all atound. I will definitely be buying more from AtlasPacks.
I’m on my second Atlas pack now having owned the Athlete since 2019 and now a newer Adventure, and both times that I’ve dealt with Allan and the team have been phenomenal with personalised service helping me getting the exact bag I need. I’ve really appreciated the help each time and the extra mile they’ve gone. The bags themselves have been phenomenal as well with great features and superb build quality. Can’t fault Atlas Packs and will be a life long buyer and user of their bags and accessories.
Best camera Pack I have ever owned after decades of trying different brands, mostly Lowepro. Comfortable, sturdy, excellent zipper, good protection. I would like it if the chest strap was wider and the strap buckles were bigger.
There are many camera packs, but most do not have adequate suspension systems for a full camera kit and also tend to lack the capacity for non-camera essentials (layers for cold nights, food, rain gear, etc.).
Atlas has put a real backpack suspension system onto a bag that is highly flexible and tremendously versatile. I particularly like the origami fold system in my Adventure pack. It allows me to adjust the volume distribution between the rear camera section and the top compartment to fit my needs. I keep my long lens at the top of the camera compartment; if I don’t need to carry the long lens I can fold down the first fold of the origami and increase the volume of the top compartment.
I take my Adventure Backpack with me on every shoot, and it provides the perfect balance to fit all my camera and personal gear.
I've tried all the other camera backpacks but this one was instantly my favorite, and with the extra accessories, I've been able to tailor my backpack to all my travel needs.
Simply incredible product, quality and company. Allan was great to work with. I only bought a hip belt (for my existing back pack). In terms of the quality.... lets put it this way, my next backpack will definitely be an Atlas.
On a trip I was on a boat and needed access to a handheld wide angled camera and a 200-800 zoom on a second camera. The 200-800 is too heavy for a double strap over several hours. My solution was a gun belt from Kore belts and an Atlas Click QD Camera Clip. I was able to attach the Click clip to my belt and using a ProMediaGear plate on the lens foot was able to hang the camera off my waist. Worked great, I was able to freely move about with the heavy camera fully supported by my waist for 6 hours. Attaching and detaching the Click on my hip worked easily as I moved from wide angle to zoom. Very happy with the Click.
I purchased an Atlas Pack as a gift. The quality is impeccable and it arrived earlier than expected. The customer service was amazing and responded to my questions quickly. I’ll definitely be an Atlas Pack customer for life!
Great bag. The bag survived a challenging trip up Mt Kenya. Conditions were bad and ranged from tropical to glacial. The bag held three lenses, two camera bodies, and heavy day gear including crampons. The bag stayed dry inside without the rain cover in medium to heavy rain and snow. Good as an international carryon too. Adequate camera access for safari and walking safaris too. Sturdy camera area with room for more gear.
Look in my garage and you'll see dozens of packs (camera specific, hiking, canyoneering, backpacking, climbing, the works). Over the last 15+ years I've had numerous camera bags and packs. None of them hold a candle to Atlas Packs. You want a pack that can handle whatever adventure you take it on? Look no further!
I took me some time to find the best camera pack. But I did it! I have two different Atlas backpacks and I'm in love. 3 years ago I tried one of a friend of mine and the next day I bought one. Next level quality and confort! I've travel to Alaska, Yemen, to the jungle in Sumatra and the beaches in Australia. I've been everywhere with it!
This is not just the best camera pack I’ve ever had, it’s an amazing pack, period. Well-made, super comfortable to wear. Well thought out all atound. I will definitely be buying more from AtlasPacks.

What's your list of camera gear?:I had an old 16mm Camera with 3 lenses with me, an FX3 for backup with 4 lenses and one Nikon F3 for photos. It all fitted easily in the Adventure Pack. I even had it as hand luggage and it was absolutely no problem at all.
It’s unbelievable great what you have done w/these backpacks. Also the service is absolutely great!
To the review, I sadly did not take a lot of photos of the backpack while shooting. But I have attached them here and I can only say that I absolutely love this backpack. I would buy it again and again.
Even for me coming from Germany with paying taxes to get it delivered. It just different to every other camera bag.

Atlas Adventure Pack Specs
EXTERIOR SIZE: 30 Liters
This is what 30 liters of gear looks like in the Adventure Pack. This is the default size for the pack. This is plenty of space for tons of gear without having to expand the pack out. Perfect for travel! Should you need to fit under the seat, simply remove the frame and the height will drop down to about 20".
EXTERIOR SIZE: 45 Liters
45 liters of gear brings the Adventure Pack to about half-way full. At this size the pack has started to fill out and up slightly and candidly there is not much visual difference between the Adventure setup at 45 liters vs. 35. At this size the Adventure Pack will need to go in the overhead bins.
EXTERIOR SIZE: 60 Liters
Given how small the Athlete Pack can be, it holds an incredible amount of gear. Setup at this size there's about 30 liters of non-camera and 10 liters of camera gear and for travel this pack will need to go overhead. Even at 40 liters, the pack easily meets cabin standards.
From travel to trekking, the Atlas Adventure Pack is designed to make your journey easier, offering the perfect balance between compact storage and versatility.

"I loved my Adventure Pack so much that I purchased the Athlete Pack to go along with it! Spending a lot of my time on two wheels adventuring, I'm very tough on my gear and my Atlas packs have thrived at everything I can through at them. I use my Adventure Pack when I'm out shooting wildlife and need my bigger lenses or when I'm on multiday trips and need to pack camera and camping gear. The Athlete Pack is my everyday camera bag that allows me to carry all the gear I need plus a few layers and plenty of snacks. I really like these packs because they don't look like camera bags with expensive gear in them, living in a big city where I often leave my bag in my truck and this matters to me. From the seashore to the desert to the mountains, one of my Atlas Packs is always with me. Feel free to ask me any questions." Andrew Hertel - @andrewjameshertel

ADVENTURE PACK | EXPANSION IN LITERS
ADVENTURE CAMPING | 30 - 44 LITERSThe Adventure Pack has a double fold Origami Camera Core (TM) *prior generations had a single fold. Having two folds means even more room for camping or camera gear. The Adventure Pack can be setup to have up to 30 liters for camping with maximum camera gear. As you shift the folds, the ratios change and camping gets larger while camera storage gets smaller. One of the main reasons you get the Adventure Pack is because you need to pack food. The depth of the Origami Camera Core (TM) allows for storage of big lenses and gripped bodies in the upright position.
DOUBLE FOLD ORIGAMI
The Adventure Pack features a two-fold deep Origami Camera Core (TM) with the ability to shift between three position and upwards of 25 liters of space between the front and back of the pack.

TRIPOD / WATER SIDE POCKETS
The side pockets of the Athlete Pack (used for water bottles and tripods) have undergone a significant change. The bottom 1/3 of the pocket has a split layer that reinforces and protects against wear and tear from both inside and outside the pocket. It's important to note that there is a slight loss in flexibility due to the change in design, however users can expect the usage to be much improved.
SLEEPING BAG LOOPS
A new set of sleeping bag loops is sewn-in to the bottom of the pack. A set of new sleeping bag loops is also sewn-in to the new 2022 hip belts. These loops are for GEN1 pack customers looking that wan to upgrade their packs via a firmware updated.

Häufig gestellte Fragen
Atlas Adventure Kamerarucksack und Hüftgurt Häufig gestellte Fragen
Is there really a difference between packs and bags?
The difference is in the design. Bags are designed to hang on shoulders. Backpacks are designed to hang on hips. This simple difference makes a huge difference and why Atlas Packs are so comfortable and easy to carry.
There are so many problems with camera bags it's hard to know where to start. First, they come in fixed liter increments, who packs the exact amount every time! Next, they are floppy and lack structure and need to be filled with smaller bags or inserts just to stand up. All this extra adds weight and drives up costs and limits access to camera gear. And finding a camera bag that properly fits, good luck. Camera bags are sized based on liters, not torso length or waist size. That's because camera bags are designed to hang on your shoulders while packs are designed to hang on your hips.
When does the updated version come out?
The design for both Athlete and Adventure Packs is complete. There is no 'new' version of the pack coming next year.
What about shoulder straps shaped specifically for women?
Curved shoulder harness systems for women are recommend when hip belts are not adequate to support the load. When you have a properly sized pack and hip belt a straight shoulder harness works perfectly.
I've seen photos and video where the logo is really big and stands out. Is this the final design?
No. The ATLAS logo on the front of the pack has been updated from the original design. The updated logo is both smaller and the colorway is tonal. You can expect the logo to fade out in the shadows and be somewhat visible in direct light
Pack History and Info
We designed the Adventure Pack because camera bags are all giant boxes! We wanted a thinner, more nimble design that holds weight close to the body and doesn’t impede movement in busy urban areas or while moving over terrain.
We also wanted a way to move space inside the pack without have to remove and insert anything and why we designed and developed our Origami Camera Core (TM). Camera bags are floppy and lack structure and have to be filled with smaller bags to secure camera gear. These systems add costs and weight and use a "pressure fit" design. Pressure fitting resulting in a fundamental compromise to a bags load carry why camera bags carry so much heavier than they actually weigh.
With the Adventure Pack, we've designed the worlds first and only true hybrid - and taken the best from the world of camera and the outdoors and combined them together. Countless awards and accolades. Battle tested world wide since 2018 by thousands of pros and armatures alike.
