What is a CapCASE™
A CAMERA CASE WITH MAGNETS HIDDEN IN THE BIND
The name is derived from the historical definition found in Merriam-Webster: 'a small traveling case or bag; a case that caps (covers) something.' We reclaimed this obsolete term to describe our fitted system. Unlike generic square cubes, CapCASE are designed to 'cap' the specific dimensions of your gear, providing a semi-rigid, form-fitted shield that slides directly into your pack.
What are you carrying?
Every CapCASE is sized to specific gear, not a generic cube. Pick the case that fits what you shoot, then choose PRO or GO.
GO construction is available on the 70-200, Body + Lens (Short and Long), Day, and Getaway. All other cases are PRO only.
Flip the cap and you're in.
Most cases make you run a zipper for access or leave gear exposed for speed. CapCASE does both jobs at once, held by magnets and sealed by a zipper.
- Magnetic cap closureThe cap flips open and snaps shut on its own, no zipper to run for everyday access.
- Hidden N50 magnetsRare-earth Neodymium magnets sit inside the binding, out of sight, doing the holding.
- Sealing zipperA full zipper closes the case for secure, environmentally sealed transport when you're on the move.
- Semi-rigid EVA shellHigh-density EVA gives PRO cases their impact protection. GO cases go soft-sided for lighter kits.
- Sits freely in the packNo fixed attachment points. It rides loose in the Velex interior, and anchors in place with StashPacks when you want it locked down.
PRO or GO?
Same magnetic cap, same fitted sizing, same price within a case. The only difference is the shell, and that comes down to what you carry.
Every case, every spec.
The complete CapCASE reference. Dimensions are the case body. Every case adds 25mm of depth for the lid.

CapCASE vs a traditional camera insert.
A padded ICU does one thing well: it turns a bag into a camera bag. CapCASE is built to do that without locking your gear to a single pack. Here's the honest breakdown.
| Feature | CapCASE | Traditional ICUs & cubes |
|---|---|---|
| Works in more than one bag | ✓Rides in any Atlas ONE pack, and nests into most third-party packs too. | –Usually built around one brand's bag, with limited value outside it. |
| How it's sized | Fitted to specific gear: a lens family, or a body with lens attached. | One padded box you split up with velcro dividers. |
| Access | Magnetic cap flips open in one motion, zipper seals it for transport. | Typically zip-only, or an open flap. |
| Protection | Semi-rigid EVA on PRO, soft-sided on GO for lighter kits. | Soft padded walls, varies by brand. |
| Mixing sizes | Nests like packing cubes. Run a body-and-lens case beside a Gear Box. | One large insert tends to fill the whole bay. |
| Take it out and… | Both still work. The pack is a full everyday pack, the case rides in any Velex pack. Engineered to pair, never locked together. | The insert was the system. Without it, the bag is just an empty bag. |
Camera space when you want it. Daily space when you don't.
Every CapCASE rides in the Velex interior of any Atlas ONE pack, so a plain everyday bag turns camera-ready in seconds, and your laptop never has to come out.

MISSION
Good to know.
CapCASE is a fitted camera case built around a magnetic cap closure, held by rare-earth Neodymium magnets hidden in the binding. Instead of one padded box you fill with dividers, each case is sized for specific gear and designed to nest together like packing cubes. Flip the cap and you're in instantly, and the zipper seals the case for secure transport when you're moving.
PRO is semi-rigid, built for camera bodies and heavier glass, with a high-density EVA shell that holds its shape and takes the hit. GO is soft-sided and lighter, better for compact kits and tighter configurations. Both share the same magnetic cap and sealing zipper, at the same price within a given case.
It doesn't need to. CapCASE rides freely inside the Velex-lined interior with no fixed attachment points, so you just set it wherever suits your kit. If you want it held in one spot, you can anchor it using StashPacks.
Yes. Around cameras, cards, and everyday electronics the N50 magnets are fine. As a simple precaution, keep the case at least 6 inches (15cm) away from pacemakers and other medical devices.
The Smuggler is long and narrow, built for a compact mirrorless body without a lens attached, or a single prime stored on its own. It runs 255 by 90 by 95mm plus a 25mm lid, and comes in PRO.
The 70-200 case is built around that zoom family and comparable glass, at 250 by 125 by 85mm, in PRO or GO. For a body with the lens still attached, the most common way to shoot, the Body + Lens case at 285 by 150 by 95mm is the one, also in PRO or GO.
Yes. The DJI Mini w/ Lash is portrait-oriented with integrated lash bungees, built around the DJI Mini footprint. The Top Load is the deepest case in the line, made for dropping a camera in from above instead of reaching in from the side. Both come in PRO.
The Day case turns the DAY's clamshell core into a dedicated camera bay, and the Getaway case is built for the GETAWAY's deeper clamshell, with room for larger body-and-lens combos. Both come in PRO or GO, and both also fit inside the MISSION pack.
The 200-600 case is made for the 200-600mm super-telephoto family at 405 by 130 by 100mm. From there, Backfields and Big Glass go larger still, up to 475 by 165 by 120mm, for the longest, heaviest lenses in the lineup. All three come in PRO.
Yes, that's the idea. CapCASEs nest together like packing cubes, so you can pair a body-and-lens case with a Gear Box for accessories inside the same pack, and rearrange them whenever your kit changes.
