About the Origami Camera Core (TM)

The Origami Camera Core (TM) is both trademarked and patented and more importantly, battle tested.

Today there are over 10,000 Atlas Packs world wide all using the Origami Camera Core (TM).

Packs are built out in the order they are received. You'll get an order confirmation right away followed by an order update 1-2 days later confirming all specs and parts.

I live outside the USA?

Atlas Packs ships worldwide and many bundles include free world-wide shipping. Shipping times and rates are displayed at checkout.

Does Atlas Packs offer free shipping?

Yes. For both USA and INTL orders. Please note that free shipping are built and shipped in bulk and ship out 7-10 days after order date.

What are the store policies.

The new generation of Athlete Packs means you can drop-in six inch tall glass. Let's talk about glass for a minute. The biggest change to come as it relates to camera gear will happen right here. Big lenses like the a 500 are getting smaller and lighter. Wides and primes are getting heavier, wider and taller. And everything is getting more expensive.

CANON R BODIES W/GRIP

NOTE: GRIP IS UP ....... In the next set of examples, we've taken a gripped and non-gripped Canon R5 with a 70-200 RF lens and placed it at the bottom of the pack. The thing to note here is that this section of the pack is the tightest and placing tall object here places a lot of pressure on the zipper. Putting a gripped body (of any type) at the bottom of the pack is NOT recommended

BIG GLASS

Gripped Sony Alpha + 400 2.8+ Gripped Sony Alpha + 200-600 --- For anyone carry big glass you will want the pack setup for max camera. For 2022 the length and depth of the ORIGAMI CAMERA CORE (TM) has been increased. With the Adventure Pack, big glass like the 400 2.8 and 200-600 can be stored on bodies with hoods on and front lens caps off. This makes workflow, organization and access so much easier. ---- No other carry-on sized camera bag that can do this >> and still leave you with lots of space to pack non-camera gear. Longer glass like 600mm and 800mm, these can fit but eat up a lot of room.

SINGLE FOLD ORIGAMI
The Athlete Pack includes our single-fold Origami Camera Core (TM) that shifts approx. 3 liters of space between the front and back of the pack.

DEEPER CORE CORE
The depth of the Origami Camera Core (TM) has increased by 2cm. This still means the Athlete Pack is super shallow.
WATER BLADDER STORAGE
A new top access (on the inside of the pack) allows for access to the water bladder chamber in addition to zipper access from the side.

COLORWAYS
The Athlete Pack is available in a total of three colorways. Gray, black and yellow.
SMALLER | TONAL ATLAS LOGO
The ATLAS logo on the front of the pack is significantly smaller and the colorway is tonal. You can expect the logo to fade out in the shadows and be somewhat visible in direct light.
THICK 10MM DIVIDERS
Easily the best dividers on the market. Designed to spoon your camera gear and distribute the weight.
HIP BELTS: MOLLE
The hip belts have been updated to include MOLLE loops as well as sleeping bag/pad loops. Works with all versions of the Athlete Pack.
TOP LID MOLLE
In addition to the MOLLE loops on the hip belt, a set of loops has been added to the top lid.
ATHLETE LAPTOP SLEEVE
Lap sleeve as shown on a reversed out Athlete Pack | For 2022 the material have been updated to a softer felt on both the inside and outside of the sleeve. Fits laptops up to 16" wide and 1" deep. No change to the size or location of the laptop sleeve. If you come up with a better spot for the laptop LMK!
ICE & SNOW LOOPS
A full set of loops for connecting ice axes, skis, snow shoes, etc, have been added.
NON-CAMERA SIDE-ACCESS
A new side zipper (YKK Aqua Guard with sealed seams) has been added on the right side of the pack. When open, this zipper provides the user with full access to the CAMPING side of the pack. More details to come.
RAIN COVER
The size of the Athlete Pack raincover is larger by 25%. This better accommodates the coverage of tripods when the pack is loaded out.
HIDDEN SIDE POCKET DUMP POUCHES
Updates to the dump pouches (stored inside the hip pouches). For 2021, we have added an elastic draw-string.
TRAVEL SET OF FRAME FLAPS
Only available on the large size Athlete Pack. A smaller set of frame flaps for an optional travel frame to bring the height of the down approx. 2" / 5cm.
YKK ZIPPERS & PULLS
The Athlete Pack is now fully YKK. All of the buckles have been updated as well as small changes to zippers.
ATHLETE INTERIOR LOOPS
Loops have been added along the inside of the pack to allow for the
attachment of a new line of accessories.
SLEEPING BAG LOOPS
A new set of sleeping bag loops is sewn-in to the bottom of the pack. A set of new sleeping bag loops is also sewn-in to the new 2022 hip belts. These loops are for GEN1 pack customers looking that wan to upgrade their packs via a firmware updated.

TRIPOD / WATER SIDE POCKETS
The side pockets of the Athlete Pack (used for water bottles and tripods) have undergone a significant change. The bottom 1/3 of the pocket has a split layer that reinforces and protects against wear and tear from both inside and outside the pocket. It's important to note that there is a slight loss in flexibility due to the change in design, however users can expect the usage to be much improved.
ATHLETE LONG DIVIDERS
The standard set of dividers now includes a new "mid-lense" size and there is an optional full-length divider. Great for big glass like the 200-600.
DRAINAGE GROMMET
In addition to the new fabrics, the stretch side pockets also have grommets for drainage.
OVERSIZED GRAB BAG TOP HANDLE
A big update to the Athlete Pack is the new bigger style grab bag handle. In addition to making the pack much easier to grab, the heat shrink on the outside can be reheated and repaired. Over time you will find it may get some scratch or even gouges that can be smoothed out with a little flame!
UPDATES TO FRAME SLEEVE
The construction of the frame sleeve has been changed to allow for the connection of accessories such as the Origami Insert (as shown here)
FRONT OF PACK LOOPS
The front of the Athlete Pack includes a set of lash loops that run the full length of the pack. These loops have always been part of the design of the Athlete Pack.
ATHLETE REMOVABLE FRAME
Removing the frame allows for an even smaller setup should you need. Especially helpful if you need to squeeze your pack in to a tight area.

ATHLETE MEDIUM - NO PASS THROUGH ZIPPER
For 2022 the Athlete Pack in medium still does not have the pass-through zipper between the camera and camping. Sorry but just not enough room about the ATLAS logo.
ATHLETE LARGE - PASS THROUGH ZIPPER
Only the large size Athlete Pack has the pass-through zipper between the camera and camping sections of the pack.
INNER BACKPANEL POCKETS
The large Athlete Pack (as shown here) and both medium and large Adventure Packs, have a set of two small zippered pockets on the inside of the backpanel. The medium Athlete Pack has a different design with a single large size pocket.
BIG MAIN BRAIN w/PASSPORT POCKET & NAME TAG
The Athlete Pack has a traditional style "main brain" top lid. For 2022 we kept the original design but made it better even better by adding MOLLE to the underside of the pocket.
ATHLETE REAR ACCESS CAMERA CORE
The Athlete Pack is a rear-access camera bag. Incredibly safe and secure .For 2022 we've updated the pullers to the latest and greatest from YKK.
PACK SIZING
The Athlete Pack is available in two pack sizes (MD for medium and LG for large). The size label for all pack is tucked into the seam for the right side hip pouch pocket.
40 LITERS STUFF SACK SHELL
Tucked under all the wrinkles is a 40 liters 210D Double Rip Stock Weatherproof Shell. The top of the Athlete Pack includes a cinch sack top with draw-string closure.
AIR FLOW MESH BACKPANEL
Updated the foam and tension for the mesh to improve circulation and pack comfort.
